This is a novel about desires,passions,unfulfilled dreams,relationships and at last honesty,truthfulness cbokher responsibilities.

In the midst of all this we are presented with the story of a widow who still has desire in her heart. Reason being, it is always easy to get hold of anyone or anything by acting mean but it is difficult to stay put where your roots are till people realize who you really are. Tagore’s description of his main characters is very vivid and we realize that some human traits unfortunately do not change and that basically we are not that different.
