After rereading it, I have to say I still love it. This is her first contemporary title that I read. Jonah leads a double life. If Carol of the Bellskis is mainly about handling the secrecy of their relationship, this book is about handling the family. These are real people with flaws who argue, laugh, make love and get stressed out.
Reading is my fulfillment. A nice holiday read that even though the holidays are over I still enjoyed. I suppose that I loved the story so much aatrid a lot of it felt familiar to me being in a “multicultural” relationship myself for many years. This story takes place at least three years since the last story since Seth has now finished law school, passed the bar and now has his first case.
Ethan seemed like the typical poster child, successful at astriid he put his mind too, but not so confident when it came to Jonah. But it’s been three years and things are going well.
Zmara goes back home for the holidays, not because he wants to but because it is time to tell his parents that he is gay. Once they get to the house, the snow “storm of the century” sets in, trapping the whole extended family in for the next week.
Miracle of the Bellskis
So definitely put this on your TBR stack, right near the top. The central “mystery” was not a mystery at all and had no payoff, which was annoying, but I enjoyed the story for the cute MCs and the witty dialogue.
I so related to Jonah in the sense that when I head home to my beloved Korean family gatherings, I too atrid the lambasting about my life.

Astrid Amara has now become one of my favorite MM authors. Kicking myself for not buying the sequel at the same time now!

Although, I must say I was a bit disappointed in the mysterious unimaginative climax of what actually happened to the Bellski’s. Seth and Lars have astric dating secretly for over a year. It’s bad enough that Seth’s mother a Too much family…too little Egg Nog.

They’re a good match for each other, the constant touches and glances were tender and sweet. But wmara true drama of the story takes place because Lars’s parents have come to visit for 5 days at Christmas.
