Another issue that I had is that Jessica is becoming one of those super-heroines that I sometimes see in urban fantasy, the ones that carlxon powerful and unstoppable to the point where it becomes excessive.

That, too, is getting a bit frustrating. But the story wasn’t all perfect. And when Jessica is dropped into the Underworld too soon, without protection or the help of her friends, she must figure out just how powerful she can be Arriving on the Vampire Queen’s doorstep unexpectedly, and bringing trouble on their heels, the Sects are thrown into an all out war. Ditto on the missing dad.
Definitely I’d read Pure Blooded if it was bloooded right now! It gets boring fast. Trivia About Cold Blooded Jes This series is a delight to read and I heartily recommend it. Yes I have always liked this series but the non stop roller coaster ride the author gives us here was simply adrenaline filled!
But I see your point Annie, she does come out of disasters with very little hardship.

I admired her and even liked her but there was just something missing. The first third of the story is what worked best for me. Jessica’s been having it rough. I can’t take it Poor guys, they never get to have any fun.
