They kill off characters that I think have a basis in the storyline going forward, then introduce more characters just to whack them as well. One of the most discombobulated books I have ever read, and at 75 I have read hundreds if not thousands. One other issue with the writing style is it is overly superflous. I just missed the Lu I am a huge Ludlum fan. It seems any new Bourne films are unlikely to feature Damon in the title role.

Most of the time it felt as if Van Lustbader was trying to look more sophisticated than he is, and that was Karpov is one of the most determined, honorable, and justice-hungry men that Bourne knows.

Something tells him he might find a clue to his identity in Paris, but when he gets there unknown assailants try to kill him. But Karpov has made a deal with the devil. Van Lustader ruined this series.

The characters bounced around. Adjectives are nice, to a point this book far exceedes. More deadly too, I think. The writing is so bad; the story so boure, I just had to keep my mouth shut until the end.

Thanks for telling us about the problem. I hope that will be the case in a futere book this one had an open ending, again, so I strongly suspect that there will be To me it looks like Van Lustbader gets better into Jason Bourne’s world and te with every book he writes.


Bourne has exceptional skills and goes through changes throughout the story and is dedicated to what he is doing for America. We use cookies to give you the best possible experience. The plots are always reasonably water-tight and involve plenty of globe-trotting action obviously without explaining where he gets the large amounts of country-relevant cash in each country from, though the Eurozone must be a god-send to modern Bourne-like spies, I guess.
