Philips Fidelio X1 review | What Hi-Fi?
Pros – Extraordinary musical, strikingly lively, huge soundstage, excellent balanced, superior detailed, outstanding comfortable.
But this headphone makes me smile. Another great set of headphones from Philips, the X1s are good enough to worry the very best at this price. On my adventure to find a pair of headphones that satisfied my open back bass needs I went through several popular headphones mid-fi headphones until I settled with the X1s.
These headphones have a midbass hump with rolled off sub bass. Use the Anker 3. Mids may be recessed somewhat compared to treble and bass, but they’re still upfront and never sound dark.
Sound quality These headphones are immensely listenable. Cons – None for me. It makes me bob in my seat and dance along and act like a moron. They do have an emphasis on sub bass and the kick you get from these, when the music calls for it, is fantastic.
Pros – Euphonic fun headphone that works well for most genres of music and represents very good value for the price. There is little to no clamp and the velour earpads feel like pillows resting gently on my ears.

The monies will fund an oscilloscope which I will use to do in depth headphone amplifier reviews, so thanks for helping me if you choose to.
I also never notice any excessive clamping force and the weight is distributed equally across the top of my nugget due to the soft spring loaded headband of both headphones.
I’ve had these on my head for a few days. They should at least have done what Sennheiser does, which is to offer up a pigtail adapter like this one. Concerns about X1 was mainly a high resistance cable, dull and a tad floppy bass, poor choice of cable termination and adapter, but maybe most of all the ifdelio of changeable ear pads.
Sound and build are exceptional. So much wider and ridelio open than other cans I’ve tried.
