My friend Sarita had told me about them while I was working on the installation I did at the Kalaghoda arts festival, which used origami lotuses. Buddha image from Alchi Monastery, Ladakh. I approached the users in Japanese.
I can read Japanese and I’ve done takasbi origami, but unfortunately some of those kanji are just too fuzzy to make out. Origami never fails to amaze me. Doing Japanese OCR, hand-fixing the scanos, and running it through Google translate has been no help at all.

I also had this challenge and never solved it. They could probably give you an actual translation since some of them are relatively fluent. You might consider chatting with the users in the Hoiyo learners chat room.
