This is a good book for a Bible class provided that they are open to see evil, in all forms, as coming from sufffering and damaged human beings, accidents and the unconscioius. He must try to give dramatic form to philosophical material: As explained by Thomas E. Now he knows its Name! The poetry is alternately grand and serviceable, but the real power in the play shifts from Kacleish accusations to “Mr Zuss” and “Mr Nickels” — those who must ACT the parts of God and Satan.
