I do have to warn you that this book is probably more complex than the book that you were going to buy. My idea about this is that I am mostly a real-time graphics guy, but wanted to do one ray-tracing project just for the sake of it, before diving deep into real-time graphics.

Thanks to everyone who has pointed out errors. Further, it is a very well written book with all the details needed to write your own ray tracer. This knowledge was invaluable for our rendering, regardless of how we did it.

I am really looking forward to this book, but haven’t seen any updates yet. Maybe such delays are normal? I would much have preferred to construct the whole thing from scratch myself, with no pre-made cumbersome classes where you don’t use half of the functionality until much later into the book, mean while, it clutters and confuses the reader trying to learn the early-stage code that is mixed in with it.
